Our company was founded in 1962, by the Lic. Juan Antonio Cotera García, under the social name "Juan A. Cotera & Asociados”. Later it was transformed into an association for professional activities, changing its social name for “Cotera & Asociados”. Currently it is called “Grant Thornton Cotera & Asociados”.
Early from our beginning we have represented “Alexander Tansley Witt” in Costa Rica, later called “Alexander Grant & Co.”. In 1980 this last company merged, in the United States, with “Thornton & Baker”, of England, forming “Grant Thornton International”. Cotera & Cotera & Asociados was its representative until July 1994; from that date until now we have become their partners.
Our 60 years of experience distinguish our company as one with 32 highly competitive professionals in management, financial and accounting sciences, committed with professional renovation and always prepared to offer to its clients, services and solutions according to their basic and specific needs.
Training and Renovation Program
Our firm has the policy of offering training and renovation courses to our personnel, lectured by Grant Thornton,in the international area, as well as by the members of the firm, in the local area. These programs constitute an important factor in the quality and effective performance of our work, and in the professional development of our employees, seeking to offer quality services to our clients
Starting September of this current year, we have implemented a Weekly Training Program for our personnel, in which we provide seminars in a variety of related themes, such as accounting, auditing, taxing and the implementation of Grant Thornton’s methodology.
It is important to mention that our firm has excellent professionals with ample experience, who, as part of their personal goals, want to continue their university studies in related topics.
